Traditionally, in India, kirtans / Bhajans are spaces of connection where the Divine, in all its forms, is sung and celebrated. Its repeated name invites us to ‘pause’ our minds and simply surrender to the song, to this musical meditation. Man-Tra’ means “tool for calming the mind”, a way of achieving a modified space of consciousness through simple repetition.
There’s no need to ‘know’ how to sing here, there’s no need to be a ‘singer’, just a desire to be present, to hear your voice, to let it blend with the others and create beauty.
I’ll be sharing with you some of the mantras I’ve learnt, shared and received on my various trips to India, as well as during workshops with different people in Europe.
